Instructions for Judge Scribes when using PCs for scoring
When waiting for a competitor to enter the course, the PC screen will look like this. |
Once a competitor enters the course, the operator will
enable your scoring screen, and it will look like this:
![]() |
This screen will vary slightly, depending on the number
of movements in the test, their coefficients, and for freestyle there
will be real numbers for some movements rather than integers.
The blue groupbox in the upper right corner identifies the competitor, horse, and the judge:
Each "movement groupbox" shows the movement number and the coefficient. Notice that movement 1 is highlighted here. Simply type a number on the computer keyboard, and the highlighted movement will change. Then hit TAB to change to the next movement. To back up, hold down the <SHIFT> key and then hit TAB, and you will back up.
At any time during a competitor's test, you can skip movements or back up by hitting TAB or <SHIFT>TAB. BE SURE to navigate with the TAB key, NOT the <ENTER> key, because the sole purpose of the <ENTER> key is to notify the operator that you are finished with the current competitor |
In the bottom-right there is a red box for Errors Of Course. In the event of an Error Of Course, enter the penalties in the PENALTY box.
These are the valid navigation keys. They're listed right on the screen.
FINALLY - VERY IMPORTANT. When your judge is finished scoring a competitor and you are finished reviewing your screen to make sure your data matches the judge's, hit <ENTER> to signal the operator that you're done. When you hit <ENTER>, your screen will revert to "WAITING FOR COMMAND" and no further scoring of the current competitor will be possible. Your screen will then stay on WAITING FOR COMMAND until the next competitor enters the arena. |
